National Bowling Stadium
__________
Located in downtown Reno, Nevada, the National Bowling Stadium opened in 1995, as a purpose-built destination for tournament bowling and sports tourism. Nicknamed the “Taj Mahal of Tenpins,” the facility was created to bring major championship events, bowlers, spectators, and visitors into the Reno-Tahoe region while supporting downtown revitalization.
The stadium is recognized as the only facility of its kind in the world dedicated to bowling at this scale. Its signature exterior features an aluminum dome designed to resemble a giant bowling ball, making it one of Reno’s most recognizable landmarks. Inside, the venue offers 78 lanes, high ceilings, event concourse space, and flexible areas that can support tournaments, meetings, private events, and special gatherings.
